This question has been asked before but could you please give a definate answer to the following :-

PENALTY ON LATE JOINING

At present on 5000 starting stack penalties are 1000 & 1500 .

As a lot of venues increase the stacks for their convenience, should the penalties be as follows ? :-

6000 1200 1800

7000 1400 2100

8000 1600 2400

|Chas, the penalties are 1000 chips and then a FURTHER 1500 chips, in other words 2500 in total if a player joins in the second blind level.

|I think Young Chas is right

lose 20% joining after 5 min has elapsed in the 1st blind level
lose 50% joining in the 2nd blind level

|Well clearly 1800 is not 50% of 6000, so I would say he is incorrect.

If he means what I wrote then it wasn't very clear. It's not 1500 that you lose in the second blind level, but 2500.

I realise that's what he meant Gordon, I was just correcting the penalty.

|errrrrrrrr I am sure Chas means 1200 loss for joining in 1st level + a further 1800 loss if joining in the second level. 1200 + 1800 = 3000 total for a 6000 starting stack which is 50%
