|A player knocked out of game but wàtching implied that two members of the same family were cheating.

No only was this player out of the game he puts himself forward as being the most knowledgeable player in the Burton circle.

As this remark was made in a public place this could be construed as slander.
This has no place in the social type of poker that is played in ordinary pubs.

|And what pray do you mean agenda? If you had all the facts you would know that the problem was explained to a satisfactory level (in my opinion) by another player so I did not feel the need to comment further and the matter should have ended then

|I am one of the players involved . The person who made the implication had been knocked out and was therefore no longer in the game. As an experienced player, he should have known that once you have been knocked out or have folded your cards , then you should not make any comments. If he had kept to this rule, the situation would not have arisen.
All I want to do is enjoy a social game with other players.

|Liz the player that made the comment was very much still in the game and had a vested interest in how hands played out, as for your involvement your only crime was that you happened to be in that hand , I even told you not to fret as it kicked off as you had done nothing wrong

|I have made my views clear. I want to enjoy playing poker. Lighthearted banter is fine but snide comments and remarks implying cheating may be going on , at best are in bad taste and at worst, slanderous.
This is my final comment on the matter. I have no wish to cause any ill feeling in our league.

|As an impartial observer having recently returned to playing in Burton I feel I might add my twopence worth. I was not at the game in question but I have heard players making comments about suspected chip passing, and also heard some rather derogatory comments about less experienced players. On occasion I will also have a moan about someone calling me with rubbish cards its part of the game and generally you want bad calls because overall you'll win more than you lose.

However, we all need to have more acceptance. The league should be welcoming to all and if you want a higher standard of poker then enter some different games. The recent APAT in Malta was phenomenal and at £120 quid offered a high standard of poker for a modest fee.

It is what it is, there'll always be an element of critique of other players strategy, theres more than one way of playing but it goes too far if people are so upset they don't want to return to a venue.

And before anyone says it I'll admit to having been someone who has been too vociferous in previous games, nobody is perfect and we all should learn from our experiences. I'd like to think I'm getting there.

LPPL is first and foremost a social game of poker.
