|Changes to LPPL Structure wef June 1, 2010
||May 9th 2010
LPPL will be introducing 2 fundamental changes to the default 'Regular Game' structure for the start of the Jun/Jul leaderboards. These changes have been devised to benefit both the venues and players and add to the overall enjoyment of the games whilst at the same time making both the games and league more competative and balanced.
1) CHIP STACKS
The default starting stack for a Regular Game will now be 5,000 chips. All venues will have enough extra "greens" (1000 chip) to accomodate this increase (simply 2 per player) but TDs are reminded that they have the flexibility, where required due to the closing time of the venue, to tweak blind levels to suit the venue needs.
Blind Levels will be 15 mins throughout.
No changes are being made to Area Finals, which remain at 6,000 chip stacks and 20 min blinds throughout (NB that Area Finals have vastly increased numbers playing and consequently the 'quality' of an Area Final is enhanced beyond a regular game due to the total chips in play).
2) POINTS STRUCTURE
Bonus Points 'won' will be extended to incorporate players that finish in 17th-24th positions, and the 'played points' for these positions will also be increased. Those who finish 25th or below will continue to win 50 'played points' only.
TDs will need to ensure that 17th-24th positions are fully recorded on the Tournament Results sheet - the new version to be used for games from 1 Jun 2010 onwards is attached (with some additional info).
The stagger of points from 1 Jun 2010 onwards will now be:
1st - 8th
9th - 16th
17th - 24th
Smaller venues are still well catered for and will remain competative within the league for those who play well and finish in the top numbers, but there is now more scope for bigger venues to be more competative with the increase to the number of players who can achieve 'bonus' points.
We also feel this extension of the points structure will lead to a much more competative overall Leaderboard, something which will be of great value to all concerned.
The LPPL software will be updated by June 1 so that all results input from then will automatically be calculated on the new points system and displayed as such.
Minimum game requirements for Reserves (8 games) and Top Averages (12 games) will remain the same.
We trust that our Venues and Players will support these changes and are sure that they will help to continue the sustained success and enjoyment of the LPPL.

|LPPL SURVIVOR Series Event - May 2nd @ 20:30
||Apr 29th 2010
Last month we did our first ever Survivor tournament......its high time we had another crack at this egg!
This Sunday evening (May 2nd), starting at 20:30, we will be having another online LPPL SURVIVOR event - being played as always on Ladbrokes poker!
For those of you who dont know what a Survivor event is, please click on the below for details :
Basically it is a tournament where you get bust out if you are one of the low stacks remaining in the tournament at the end of each round - if you manage to "survive" right up until the end, you get an equal share of the cashpot with the other survivors - with the overall chip leader getting any surplus cash available.
We have set the blinds to be 10 minutes long, so there is plenty of time to make your move to keep your heads above water.....and there is an on screen gauge telling you how "safe" you are during the game!!
Buy in is just $5 + .50 and we have set the starting stack to 6,000....should there should be plenty of players being eliminated "in danger" rather than being bust out naturally....
You can find the tournament password by logging into our Player Portal (forum) and going to the LPPL ONLINE>LADBROKES POKER section
